1# Cafe del Mural

This little cafe tucked away in the middle of the most beautiful quarter of Cartagena is the right place to go if planning to relax from the tourist masses. The place has a few tables inside and some more outside but what really stands out here is the quality of the coffee.

Here you can order pretty much any coffee you can think of and we can assure you they will all be served in a different cup. Additionally, in the place there’s also a coffee laboratory where you can learn the process that transform the coffee beans to the coffee you’re drinking.

2# Abaco Cafe & Library

Who doesn’t love having a coffee while reading a book? This half cafe half library gives to all of its visitors the chance to skim through thousands of books about everything & everybody while tasting some great Colombian coffee. Really, the atmosphere is great! Also, the choice of coffees is pretty wide and for those non-cafeine drinkers, the menu has several options for teas and even other drinks such as beers, liquors etc…

Located in the northern bit of the walled city, featuring AC and very good wi-fi is the perfect spot to come to get away from the midday heat and relax surrounded by a highly cultural environment. We loved Abaco so much that we ended up going twice in a day but make sure to go early if you want to get one of the few tables inside!

3# KGB Cafe

Ever thought of sipping a cocktail inside a submarine? Well you can today at KGB! This bar has a unique style all dedicated to Russia and the Kgb (as the name mention) creating a very interesting and funny ambience for those passing by for just a drink. Everything has been thought of at KGB, from the images on the walls to the hats of the waiters, it will bring you back in time!

Located in the northern part of the walled city, features very good wifi and plentiful of tables to work. The price might not the cheapest in town but the top-quality of food and drinks definitely make it up for it!

4# Juan Valdez Cafe

Lovely ambience, comfortable seats and excellent quality makes this particular cafe a perfect spot for anyone looking to work for a couple of hours. Following the philosophy of Starbucks, offers free super fast wi-fi, tables with plugs and a personalised order system to make you feel home.

In Cartagena there are many Juan Valdez Cafes which offers pretty much the same things but the one located just next to the Reloj has no equals. On top of having a great inner seating area, it also features an awesome balcony with tables overlooking the Plaza and skyline of Cartagena. What a view !

Located in-between Getsemani and the Walled City, this more restaurant-than-bar offers a friendly local environment and tasty food at very affordable prices. Featuring good wi-fi (better than hostels), inside seating with big vents on top of every table and some plugs, it is a cool place to have a bite and sip a natural juice while working in your little space.

Hands down that if you’re looking to work for a short while, eat and drink on the cheap this is definitely the place to go!
