Hello traveller,
Welcome to our Adventure!
Do you love exploring the world? Have you ever thought how scary wandering the world can be? Or maybe that you cannot afford it? What if we told you you can do anything anytime anywhere?
Yes, you read that right! Don’t give yourself limits on places you can visit or things you can do!
We’re Marta & Max
A couple of avid travellers. Professional photographers & videographers.
Highly addicted to visiting new destinations and meeting new people.
Always up for a hike, a party and a tasty meal!
How can you not go out and party on the streets at the Carnival of Rio!!!
Meeting up in a small Welsh town during university literally changed our lives and (apart from making us madly fall in love for each other) we made us realize that travel had to be part of our lifestyle. During our first trips together the funniest thing happened: the both of us happened to keep travel diaries to remember those amazing moments. It was then that we said to ourselves, “what about sharing our experiences with the world?“.
Nowadays, we run this blog which we named Connected Horizons. On here, we not only share our experiences but we also write guides to help people like us to make the most of their time and budget while travelling their dream destinations. And highlight the word BUDGET. We know the feeling of really visiting that one country but then thinking about that horrible sentence “Can I afford it?”.
Ashbjhbasfknj… YES YOU CAN! We always tell ourselves that we can do anything anytime anywhere because its the truth. Sometimes can be harder, sometimes right off the bat but there’s always a way and we’ll tell you.
Oh and did we mention that we write our blog in two languages? Marta is a proud Catalan that puts all of her heart in writing the spanish content and Max is an Italian-Austrian mix that takes care of the english side of things. Whenever you want to switch language just click on the flags you see around the website!
You make it too easy!
Yes and no. Travelling around the world its easier than you think it is, it only depends on the trade-offs you’re willing to give away by choosing this lifestyle.
For the average of travel bloggers, we’re both pretty young and while our friends were out starting their careers, we were out wandering the world with our backpacks. Finishing university and deciding to see what the world was instead of looking for a “safe” job was a controversial choice. Nonetheless, we haven’t regretted it a single time so far!
Working and volunteering in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Chile. So much fun (and also money)!Don’t fall into the trap of the work-to-get-money-to-travel routine that keeps you 9 to 5 working to have a couple of weeks per year of travelling. Be aware that we’re not saying you shouldn’t work but there are ways to work while you’re on the road that will let you discover the world whilst doing what you like.
From working as graphic designers, bartenders, waiters, media marketing, real estate photography, adversting videography, house sitting, hostel managers etc… we’ve always found something new that we liked from which we could earn some money from.
Don’t be scared of taking off in this world, you’ll always find a way to get yourself back on the road to somewhere new. Back in 2017 we left our countries with just 3000€ each, a one-way ticket to Cuba and our backpacks. No less than 18 months later we’ve had visited Cuba, and all nearly all countries of Central and South America. You see, it is possible!
