Going to Peru is, well, if you ever have an opportunity in your life to go there, you should do it cause it is absolutely mind boggling.Dean Stockwell

Outdoors, history and colours: these are three words everybody will use to describe this beautiful country. Whether you like discovering the country’s ancient past, spend days hiking in the snowy sierra or just relax on the beaches of the coast – Peru has it all. Not to talk about the gorgeous amazonian jungle just a slingshot away!

Visit the less-know north to hike the Yumbilla waterfall a.k.a the 5th highest waterfall in the world and visit the incredible Kuelap Fortress where once lived the warriors of the clouds.

Base yourself in the small Chachapoyas for some relaxed city strolls and start visiting the sierra around you to uncover places such the Sarcophagi of Karijia.

Head over to the coast to learn about the Moches and the forgotten civilisations that once lived between Chiclayo and the famous Trujillo. But if you prefer something bigger, then just take a sleeper bus to Lima and spend a week wondering around the touristy yet lovely Miraflores district.

Explore the bohemian streets of Cusco and make your basecamp to there to visit the famous Machu Picchu, get lost in the Sacred Valley and if you’re really up for a challenge, hike the hard-to-reach Rainbow Mountain.

For those outdoor lovers, trekking the Colca Canyon in Arequipa is going to be an unforgettable experience. Not before having visited the cities of Lake Titicaca, Puno and Copacabana, and the unique Uros Islands.

Trek in Huaraz – Definitely among the best trekking destination in the country (especially for the Laguna 69 trek), Huaraz is the right place to go if you love trekking and mountains.

Wander the amazon in Iquitos – Slightly more expensive than its correlative in Ecuador or Colombia, Iquitos is the MUST visit for all nature-lovers who can push their budget up a little.

Fly over the Nazca lines – Interesting yet over exploited sighting, it still retain a lot of appeal. Flying over vast drawings drawn in ancient times sounds like a fable, right?

Sandboard on the oasis of Huacachina – Unique in its own way, located not far from Ica, this astounding city-oasis in the middle of desert is something unbelievable!
